Made out from scrap of kimono fabiric, hand-sewn. I buy partly damaged second hand kimonos at the same shop in my city. They sell not damaged kimonos, too. But I think it’s a waste to use kimonos that we can still wear, so I choose damaged ones. They also do scrap of kimono fabrics. I bought some and this is one of them.

Made out from partly damaged japanese traditional Yukata, hand-sewn.

A yukata is a casual, single-layered cotton kimono which is usually worn in summer.

Now we have many high tech fabrics but they don’t feel great on your skin, do they? I love the texture of cotton and it’s easy to sew.

Most of the shops sell yukata only during the summer time, I need to get some before the summer ends.

Bow clutch made out from partly damaged japanese traditional Kimono.

I found this pattern online via Pinterest

I liked the figure——–ribbon but not too girly.

Used a pink (but not too girly-again) leftover fabric, and for the lining ……this ↓ kimono!

Pink ribbon, sounds very “not” me, but this one will do.

I think……

Made out from partly damaged japanese traditional Kimono.

For almost all of my handmade clothes, I use a pattern from a library books. I borrow books and trace the patterns →store them until I find a perfect kimono for the pattern.

Because of this Corona virus lock down, libraries are closed for a while. It’s likely that I run out of those pattern storage.

So I used this pattern in a row.

Because simple things suits for everything, right?

Made out from japanese traditional Kimono, a friend of mine gave me.

My sweet sweet friend who wears kimono gave me a lot of kimonos that are no more her taste or she thinks she has worn enough. This is my 50th clothes made from kimonos (in less than 2 years….god, I don’t get tired of this hobby, do I ?) I thought I would chose a material from those given kimonos (to thank her again).

Made out from partly damaged japanese traditional Kimono.
I realised there were some stains on the fabric
when I almost finished sewing up all of the pieces.
Oh, what should I do…..
Tried and used a mild bleach with a scrap,
it worked.
Okay, problem solved!
I saved another kimono (self-satisfaction).
